From Wikipediaacademy
Wikipedia Academy is a global, non-profit initiative that aims to train people to edit and contribute back to Wikipedia.
So far, less than 1% of Wikipedia users edit or add information to Wikipedia. The ratio of 'readers' to 'writers' is startling. Even with less than 1% contributing, Wikipedia is so rich with information. Imagine the quality and amount of knowledge if that percentage increased significantly? Wikipedia Academy is an honest attempt to achieve just that - Turning users from Read Only to Read Write!
Also, according to Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, only 250 of the 7000 global languages have a presence in Wikipedia. The goal is to encourage regional language Wikipedia entries.

The Solution
One small way to address the problem is to teach people. Once they realize how easy it is to contribute, people are more forthcoming to contribute.
How Does it Work?
Simple. If you have access to computers, you take time to teach a group of interested people how to edit Wikipedia. These can done in office space on Sundays, in Schools, Colleges, community centres or even your homes. Wikipedia Academy is a concept that acts as bridge connecting people who volunteer to teach Wiki editing to people who want to contribute to Wikipedia. Most basic wikipedia editing and procedures can be taught within two hours.
